St. Vincent de Paul whose feastday we celebrate September 27. He was born in Gascony, France in 1581 and died September 27 in Paris, France. He became known to the universal church because of his dedication of serving the poor. He was a pioneer in seminary education and founded Congregation of Mission (CM), Daughters of Charity (DC), co-founded with St. Louise de Marillac and all the Vincentian family that transpired to establish the popular group of Society of St. Vincent de Paul in which primarily catering the need of the poor in the Church as well as in the society.
One of our missions in St. Vincent de Paul parish is to assist the needy through the work and commitment of our volunteers who are part to the ministry of the society.
The Church is comprised of all believers or the People of God. Ordained Clergy has distinct role and function in the Church; all of the baptized are a part of the whole of the Body of Christ. Together with the ordained ministers, the lay faithful are called to live out their baptism through living the gospel and to ministering to people in need.
